Dearest Guardian Angel:
For years and years,
I thought I was flying solo,
But quietly, unseen,
You were with me all the time.
After establishing stronger and stronger
Relationships with the saints,
I have at last turned my attention to you,
Seeking a deeper relationship with you as well.
I’m so sorry that I have ignored you for so long;
By God’s grace, I wish to communicate with you
More regularly, so that you can be a more
Meaningful and significant part of my little life.
I would like to extend you an invitation:
Please help me to better organize my life;
I hereby entrust to you my daily calendar,
Since as the captain of my troubled ship,
I have done such a poor job of sailing
Through the treacherous tempests of Time.
So I invite you, my Guardian Angel,
To be my Angelic Navigator,
Guiding me through the wobbly waves
Of life in this unpredictable world,
Helping me to steer my ship through
These wild time-management hurricanes;
Instead, I wish to place you in command,
So that I can wholeheartedly focus on
What really matters: discovering each day
How to live the fruit of the Spirit and
Accomplish Our Lord’s perfect plan.
Thank you for being so faithful to me;
I greatly look forward to learning from
Your wonderful ways of wisdom,
And experiencing, over and over again,
Divine Mercy in the dark night!
