Based on the Diary of Saint Maria Faustina Kowalska (699)
Dearest Jesus,
thank you for telling the whole world
about your inconceivable mercy.
I know that you desire
that the Feast of Mercy
be a refuge and shelter for souls,
especially for poor sinners.
On this day the very depths
of your tender mercy are open.
I know that you pour out
a whole ocean of graces
upon those souls who approach
the Fount of your Mercy.
I have gone to Confession
and I have received Holy Communion,
in order to obtain complete forgiveness
of all my sins — and punishment.
Let the divine floodgates
through which graces flow
be opened.
I do not fear
to draw near to you,
even though my sins
be as scarlet.
Your mercy is so great
that no mind,
be it of man or angel,
will be able to fathom it
throughout all eternity.
Everything that exists
has come forth
from the very depths
of your most tender mercy.
Every soul in its relation to you
will contemplate your love and mercy
throughout eternity.
The Feast of Mercy emerged
from the very depths of your tenderness.
It is your desire that it be
solemnly celebrated
on the first Sunday after Easter.
Mankind will not have peace
until it turns to the Fount of your Mercy.
Therefore, in the presence of
all the angels and saints
in the heavenly court,
and with my heart brimming
with sincere thanksgiving,
I wholeheartedly make
the following proclamation:
Jezu, ufam Tobie!
Jezu, ufam Tobie!
Jezu, ufam Tobie!
(Jesus, I trust in you!)
(Jesus, I trust in you!)
(Jesus, I trust in you!)
Amen.
