You reliably and respectably
Reformed the Carmelite order,
And your holy friendship
With St. John of the Cross
Helped your soul spiral upwards
Towards the Heavenly Kingdom;
Then, you closed your eyes and
Your spirit penetrated into the heart
Of the Interior Castle of prayer,
And there, during the dark night,
You discovered the true Light.
