MARIAN SYMPHONY NO. 17 / by Joseph Castorino

Virgin Most Renowned, pray that my worries

  May be whitewashed by holy Wisdom;

I wish my life to be immersed in the most

  Peaceful illumination of a Light heart.

Yet how often I am headstrong and

  Stubbornly struggle for total control;

My white knuckles ever so tightly squeeze

  The steering wheel of selfishness.

With your soft, sweet, melodious voice,

  You convince me to let go and let God;

With the Paraclete as my pilot, I am learning

  To live on spiritual cruise control.

Petition the Holy One, that I may choose

  Heaven in all my words and actions;

May my heart melt in the warm ocean

  Of His soothing mercy and love.
